This is my Hall of Fame – a place to honor the visionaries, creators, and mentors who inspire me to keep creating, dreaming, and learning.

Steve Jobs

Achievements:

  • Co-Founded Apple with Steve Wozniak and ignited the Personal Computer Revolution.
  • Founded NeXT, a company of high-end computers that stopped operating in 1997.
  • Purchased and transformed Pixar into a leading company in the animated film industry.

Fun Facts:

  • Had a pescatarian diet.
  • His style included his signature black turtleneck and Levi’s jeans.
  • Played a significant role in building the character Woody for the Toy Story movie.
  • Had a 2.65 GPA in high school and dropped out of college to pursue Shakespeare literature, modern dance, and calligraphy, later receiving a job at Atari.
Thomas Edison

Achievements:

  • Invented the phonograph, motion picture camera, and incandescent light bulb.
  • Developed the electric power system.

Fun Facts:

  • Dealt with hearing loss, but viewed that as an advantage to focus on work.
  • Proposed to his wife using Morse code.
  • Edison was a sweet tooth, particularly for apple pie and french pastries, and was known as a “big bump for cookies”.
Avicii

Achievements:

  • Earned recognition as a pioneer and leading figure in EDM.
  • Released a hit “Wake Me Up” that became an international success and earned him 4th place in US charts.

Fun Facts:

  • Came up with his name Avicii that stands for “the lowest level of Buddhist hell” with an extra “i” for uniqueness.
  • Started mixing music at an age of 8.
  • His mom was a Swedish actress.
  • Diet often included Red Bull and airport food.
Ozzy Osbourne

Achievements:

  • Won Grammy Awards as a solo artist for Best Rock Album and Best Metal Performance.
  • Made a foundational contribution to the heavy metal genre with Black Sabbath and gained massive success as a solo artist with over 100 million records sold.
  • He and his wife Sharon founded Ozzfest, which was a heavy metal/hard rock music festival that stopped running in 2018.

Fun Facts:

  • “Ozzy” started as a schoolyard nickname that he later used as a stage name and tattooed on his knuckles.
  • Allegedly bit the head off what he thought was a rubber bat, but which turned out to be real on one of his shows.
  • Was inducted twice into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist and as part of the Black Sabbath.
  • Had an obsession with burritos and Chipotle.
Mark Boady

Achievements:

  • Developed an engaging and informative class structure to teach college students the concepts of data structures and mathematical foundations of Computer Science.

Fun Facts

  • Has many (four) cats and a chinchilla.
  • Interested in Quantum Computers.
  • Likes vintage video games.
  • Will teach you anything you need to know about algorithms and have you solve fun logic puzzles.
